Frasinetti Dinner, July 28th

By Sue Choate

It's Saturday, July 28th, the day of the Frasinetti Winery Dinner has arrived. It was a 100 degree day in Sacramento, but thankfully our AC was working great for our drive in the Pantera to the winery. As we turned down the appropriately named Frasinetti Road, the hidden treasure of Frasinetti Winery came into view. With special parking reserved for the Panteras in front of the Winery, we parked our car along with Panteras belonging to Linda & Randy Welch, Barbara & John Webber, Merry & Steve Dalcino & Hans Schulz.  We then headed to the Tasting Room, our meeting spot for the evening.  Frasinetti Winery offers free wine tasting and they have many wonderful wines to choose from.  As we join our friends in the tasting room I was happy to see none other than Gary Frasinetti doing the pouring. Gary is a 3rd generation co-owner of the winery and just happens to be an original owner of a 1974 green Pantera.

We spent some time wine tasting and socializing and it was soon time to make our wine selection and head to the dinning room for our dinner. We were seated in a comfortable private room, a part of the original historic winery. Our dinners were soon served as conversation continued. There always seems to be lots to talk about when good friends get together. Garry & I bought a fabulous bottle of Frasinetti zinfandel wine which I tried very hard to share, but there were no takers as everyone was content with their meal and drink of choice.  Our dinner choices were New York Steak, Risotto crusted salmon, Chicken Frasinetti, and for dessert, Bailey's chocolate mousse or cheesecake with raspberry sauce.  Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.

The dinner was a Capitol Pantera event however many PCNC members and other car friends joined us. Those attending were Linda & Randy Welch, Nancy & Mike Haney, Emilia & Jim Seiferling, Barbara & John Webber, Merry & Steve Dalcino, Emily Campbell (Merry's sister), Beth & John Drago, Sheri & Terry Morofsky, Heather & Don Hagel (friends of Sue, Garry, Linda & Randy), Diane Dean & Tom Galli, Julie & Tom Reimers (friends of Diane & Tom), Hans Schulz & his service dog Ivy, and Sue & Garry Choate.

After a wonderful dinner and an enjoyable visit with our dear friends it was soon time to say goodby and head for home.  It was another fun evening with our friends & Pantera family at the beautiful historic Frasinetti Winery.

I am so thankful for this beautiful car that has brought us so much happiness, good times and so many amazing friends.

Until next time.  .  Sue.

Meeting Notes, at Strings

August 14, 2018

By Jim Seiferling

We had 11 people at our August meeting at Strings and 2 Panteras in the parking lot.  We have a new member, Eric Mitchell, who is restoring a 1971 Pantera that he purchased from Ebay.  John Drago won the driving for dollars prize.  Mike Drew brought a new book “Extreme Panteras”, donated by David & Linda Adler to Capital Panteras. We raffled the book at that meeting. This is a beautiful “coffee table” book and two of our members have their cars in the book, Jeff Budelli and John McNamee.  We collected $90 in raffle money and the book was won by Jim Seiferling.

John Drago thanked Sue and Garry Choate for putting together the dinner at the Frasinetti Winery.  He also reported that next years fun rally will be in Reno, June 5-9, 2019.  The venue isn’t known at this time.

George Potiris volunteered to have a club dinner at his house in Elk Grove on  Sunday, September 9th at 5pm.  It will be a semi-pot luck with everyone bringing a salad or dessert.  George will supply the entrée.  Please RSVP to Jim if you will be attending with the dish that you will be bringing.  So far we have a pasta salad from Sue and a dessert from Emilia.  Upon receiving your RSVP, Jim will send you the house address and gate code to get into George’s gated community. We need a head count to insure that there is enough food for everyone to enjoy.

Rick is not going Laguna Seca this year.  The TVR didn't get accepted this year.  A lot of US production cars got squeezed out due to Datsun/Nissan being the featured Marque.  Lots of 510's and 240 Z's filled up the Group.  Carl will also not be taking his Trans-Am Shelby Mustang as well this year.  Rick reported that his TVR windshield was destroyed in a race at Portland, Oregon.  A rock pebble was thrown up by a car in front of him, hit his windshield and it exploded because the windshield was made with tempered glass, not laminated.  This type of glass was used at the time this TVR was made.  He’s still vacuuming up glass bits from every nook and cranny inside the car.  When on the race track, always have your helmet face shield down (Rick did)!

Mike & Lori Drew and Sue & Garry Choate will be going to Monterey for all the car events.  We hope that one of the will do an article for the CP newsletter!  Please consider that a formal request for an article.
