Capitol Panteras Christmas Party, December 9th.
by Emilia Seiferling
We were greeted with cold, wet, and windy  weather the day of the Capitol Pantera Christmas Party.  We arrived at the Sacramento home of Tom and Kathy Vona to find their home festooned with Holiday lights.  Even with the lights to guide us, we missed the home the first time we drove down Greenhaven.  We would later find out that several people did the same drive by of the house.
Within a short period of time we had the 19 CP members who had RSVP at the party. Those attending were:
Jim & Emilia Seiferling, Jeff & Linda Budelli, Darice & Duane Harlan, Marcia & Rick Carlile, Toni & Lamar Fairchild, Sue & John McNamee, Lori & Ted Bristol, Tom & Kathy Vona, Karen & Henry Kirk, and John Worsley. Those of you who were unable to attend the CP Christmas party this year missed a great evening.
The food and drink was plentiful.  There were many tasty hors d'Oeuvres.  Many members brought extra beverages, so everyone was sure to have their desired beverage for the evening.  Tom, assisted by Kathy, did the preparations for our grand homemade Italian meal. The meal consisted of salad, ravioli, meat balls, sausage and meat sauce, and garlic bread. No one went hungry at our own private Festa Italiana.
After dinner was adjourned to the living room for the "Pirate Gift Exchange". The theme for this year's exchange was "French" in honor of the Pantera wheel bearings and taillight lens.  Some couples brought one present per couple, so we had 12 presents in the exchange.  Numbers had been drawn during dinner and Jim drew number one.  It was a lively time of opening and stealing.  Just about everyone obeyed the  "French Rule" for this year's exchange.  There was no shortage of French wines, all different.  There was also a French cook book, a Crème Brule kit,  French Champagne desert plates, French fruit preserves, French wire racks. Only Emilia, with her DeTomaso colors afghan, and John Worsley, with a "Bullet" DVD, did not follow the French theme.
The evening finished with coffee and dessert, Tiramisu.  By now the rain had stopped and no fog had developed.  That made for a safe drive home after the party.  We are sure that everyone had a fine time at the CP Christmas Party.  Again we thank Tom and Kathy for hosting the group this year.  Jim & I wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy new year.
"Cover Girl" Marcia went home with the DeTomaso afghan, after a final swap of gifts with John Worsley.
Thank you John for helping Marcia finally get her own afghan.
