Autorama Brunch
February 5, 2005
Jim and I had a pleasant drive up the River road to Sacramento. We arrive about 20 minutes before the 10 AM start time for our Autorama Brunch at Mimi's.  We got some coffee and the sat and waited for the rest of the group to show up.  The wait staff came over to check on us twice, since many other groups arrived and were seated, but we never moved.  We informed them that we were waiting for the rest of our group.  By five till, we had started to formulate plan B.  We would ask for a table for four and if anyone else showed up, they would be directed over to our table.  Just before 10 AM, John Worsley arrived.  At 10 AM I went over to the desk and was explaining my Plan B, when I met Dave and Debra Crego.  Dave is a PCNC member, actually a past president, who is in the process of relocating to the Sacramento area.  We were all seated at our Plan A table.  We were not even seated when we were joined by Bob Paizs.  Bob is a PCNC member who lives in Valley Springs.  CP member Rick Carlile. joined us shortly thereafter.
Jim and I had sent out notices to POCA members within driving distance of Sacramento to join us for brunch and to consider coming to our regular meeting.  So we were happy when Dave and Bob showed up!  We all enjoyed Brunch then most of the group was off  to Autorama.  Dave and Debra were off to run errands and Jim and I were off to Museum Day around Sacramento.( Jim had gone to Autorama on Friday.)

Meeting Notes, February 8, 2005
We had 8 people at Mimi's for the February meeting of the Capitol Panteras. The weather was cold, but not wet, but still no Panteras in the parking lot!  Hopefully as the weather improves so will the number of cars!
The next February activity is Sunday, February 20, at 11:00 AM at Bush League Racing.  This is NASCAR Simulator racing. Jeff has arranged this and it should be a lot of fun!  He said it can be set up for different race tracks, including road courses.  If you have a racing friend, please feel free to bring them along.  Members, spouses, and friends are invited to join in the fun. So far we have a meager number who have committed to attend; Jim& Emilia Seiferling, Grant & John McNamee., Rick Carlile, Jeff Bundelli. and PCNC member Greg Jacobs. This will be Greg's birthday present to himself. You can check it out at The cost is $25 for five races.  1021 Junction Blvd, just west of the corner of Washington Blvd.  Behind the am/pm gas station.  Food and beverages can be purchased at the snack bar. If you are able to attend, please let us know.
The Club has renewed its membership in ACCC, (Association of California Car Clubs).  This is a watch dog group for the car club community.
John McNamee and Ken Montgomery have started working on the shirt project for the Capitol Panteras.  John plans to have samples for us to see at the next club meeting at Mimi's.  This would be with the new club logo. The last time club shirts were done was 4 or 5 years ago.
Treasurer John will investigate the reinstitution of a monthly club meeting raffle as a money raiser.  If we can not show a profit, the plan will be modified or discontinued.
Look for the new club logo sign on the table at Mimi's at the next meeting March 8.  Ken made a sign for us with the new logo!  We are looking very cool! That will make it easier for new people to find us at Mimi's.  Lately, e-mails were sent out to POCA members living within a reasonable distance of Sacramento.  They were invited to join us at a meeting or a club activity.  That is why Dave Crego and Bob Paizs knew we were having brunch before Autorama.
The Tech Session at Rick Carlile's shop has been set for April 24, Sunday , at 10AM.  Thank you Rick!
John McNamee  and Jeff Bundelli have begun the preliminary planning for the CP May Wine Run and BBQ.
Ken mentioned that The DeLorean Club is doing a Napa Wine Country Drive for March 13.  They have a back-up rain date.  We may be able to join them.  At this time, we have no March club activity of our own planned.
The Capitol Panteras will at least be represented in Las Vegas.  We will have a raffle item in the POCA raffle at the Saturday night banquet.  There will be a DeTomaso colors afghan in the raffle.  We heard that it was a popular item in last years POCA raffle.  Hopefully it will again be well received.
The Capitol Panteras came in fourth in the POCA news articles contest. That is just out of the money. That is not too bad a show when you consider that we didn't have any technical articles and we are a rather small  club.  If you calculate articles per number of members per club, I bet we would have a great ratio.  The POCA article contest will happen again next year, maybe we can finish in the money next year.
Wanted: Articles for CP Newsletter
If you have attended a car function of any type, please write about your car adventures and send it to  to be included in the next Capitol Pantera newsletter.  If newsletter articles are not received, then it will be more of Jim & Emilia's automotive adventures. This happened again this month! We can't be the only people who have automotive adventures!
