The Passing of John Worsley

by Jim & Emilia Seiferling

We received word from Ken Montgomery the day prior to the June CP meeting, that CP member John Worsley had passed away.  Ken had been trying to contact John for some time but never found anyone at home.  Ken finally made contact with Alice and learned that John had passed away May 11th.  Alice did not know how to contact any of John's car buddies.  John MacNamee sent the obituary for inclusion in our newsletter.  There will be a memorial service on June 30.  Please see article for the details.  A card for Alice was circulated at the June meeting for members to sign.  We all will miss John.

Meeting Notes

Emilia Seiferling ran the June meeting, in the absence of President George.

We had 13 people present this month.  Those attending were; Emilia & Jim Seiferling,  Paul Bowden, Garry Choate, Lori & Mike Drew, Rick Carlile, Ron Southern, Lamar Fairchild & Mila, John McNamee and friend Mike Zamarelli, & Ken Whitall-Scherfee.

Driving for Dollars:
Lamar brought his Rousch Mustang, John McNamee, Rick Carlile, and Ken drove their Panteras.  Ken won the drawing for $10.00.

The raffle was a $20 gift card from O'Reiley's.  John McNamee was the very happy winner.

The yearly activity schedule was reviewed.  If members were involved with any of the events, comments were made.  Rick raced his TVR at the historic races, at Sears Point.  Rick gave a report on his weekend at the track.  He also gave us some background on how the Steve Earl vintage races are handled.  Rick will be headed for another race in Portland in two weeks.

Jim reported on the Doughnuts & Coffee gathering at Gold Country Restorations in Martell.  Jim and his cousin Rich had a car-guy day, which included the shop in Martell and a stop at Garry &Sue Choate's garage.

Ken gave a report on the planned July 27 BBQ and drive.  He will have full details at the July meeting.  The event will be at his airplane hanger at McClellan, and then be followed by a drive and time to visit the museum at McClellan.  Please be ready to RSVP at the July meeting.  A head count will be needed.

Ken reported that the Shelby Cobra Collection/ Dealer is holding an open house on Saturday, July 13, in Santa Rosa from noon-3 PM.  It is a BBQ.  Den Beste is the owner.

Ron Southern did an interview with Bob Bondurant that will appear in a future issue of Profiles.

The wheels from Jim's old black Pantera are for sale.  15" Etole's, 10" & 12", with tires (225 front / 295 rear).  The price is $200 per unit.  If you're interested contact Jim at
