Meeting Notes

The May meeting of the Capitol Panteras was held at California Auto Museum. We had 21 attending.  We had 3 Panteras (Jim Seiferling, Randy Welch, and Steve Christiansen).  John McNamee brought his Ferrari, because his Pantera had a blown head gasket.  Ken brought his new Mini and Ron was in his Audi.  We had 3 future members join us.  Bayani Panis, from Hawaii, is working in the Sacramento area.  He shipped his Pantera over here a couple of years ago, in anticipation of a job relocation in Las Vegas.  The Las Vegas job got moved to Sacramento and his car is still in Las Vegas.  Sue and Garry brought their friends and new Pantera owners, Dr. John & Barbara Webber.  They live in the same development as Sue & Garry.  John is a retired Orthodontist.  It looks like we have a full dental team in our club.  John-Orthodontist, Emilia-General Dentist, Lori-Dental Hygienist, and Sue-Dental Assistant.

There was no raffle or “Driving for Gas Money” drawing at this meeting.  Joe Hensler, president of the board of directors of the museum, filled us in on the status of the museum.  After that, John McNamee presented him with a $500 donation from our Pantera chapter.

The Club provided pizza and drinks.  Ron said he would use the gift certificate that he won a couple of meetings back to provide a desert for the group. President John related the story about trying to use said $50 gift certificate.  It boiled down to the fact that a Pantera cake done by this bakery, in Elk Grove, would have cost us about $1200.  Attention to detail is great and the cake would have been wonderful, but our Club budget would not allow for that kind of expenditure!

President John reminded everyone about the Serrano Concourse in October.  This year DeTomaso would be a special display.  Next year DeTomaso will be the featured marque, so we need a good showing of Panteras for the Concourse.  President John will be attending Norcal Panteras in July to formally invite them to the Serrano Concourse.
