Summary of the March 2011 Capitol Panteras Meeting
The March meeting had two Panteras and
a Bricklin in the parking lot at Mimi's. Mike Drew and Lori
Albino drove their Panteras, while John was in his Bricklin.
Attending the meeting; Jim & Emilia Seiferling, Ken Montgomery, Rick
Carlile, John Worsley, Lamar Fairchild and his lady friend Maureen, Garry and
Sue Choate, Jeff Budelli, Mike & Nancy Haney, Darice & Duane Harlan,
John McNamee, Jay Morris, and Mike Drew's friend Stephan from France. We had the raffle for a $20 Kragen
gift card and John Worsley won it. Mike Drew won the driving for gas
dollars prize of $10. John
reported that we have $1120 in the bank. The Club membership in the
California Auto Museum is up for renewal. The group voted to pay $125 to
keep our CP club membership current. John will submit a list of our
members to CAM so that our members can utilize the free entrance to the museum
that the membership brings. The other money matter voted on was that
Emilia & Jim would have club funds to buy the POCA raffle tickets
they will be given to sell in Reno this June.
Don and Kathy Gagnon needed to change the date for the
Jackson Drive that is planned for May. After review of the calendar and
discussion of possible conflicts with other events it was decided to do the
Jackson Drive on Sunday, May 15. Please mark your calendar for this CP
event. A more definite head count will be taken at the April CP
meeting. Don had a family matter to deal with today so was unable to make
the meeting. It was also his birthday. We all wish Don a happy
birthday!
The Tech session is still on for Saturday, April 16, at
Rick's shop. Lamar will be having his car examined by Rick to make sure
it will be ready for the POCA track event in Reno in June. If your
Pantera needs any minor help or a tech inspection, please bring it for the guys
to help you sort it out. But remember you have to be able to drive it
home at the end of the session. Jim & I will stop to pick up some
donuts on our way to the tech session. We will discuss lunch options at
the April meeting. The last year we sent out for piazza for lunch.
It ready depends on how many people show up for the session.
Ken gave us the date for the British Car Show in Woodland,
Sunday, May 22. EuroSunday may be held in Woodland that day to piggy back
of the British Car Show. Ken will be there displaying his DeLorean.
Maybe Garry & Sue will bring their DeLorean to the show as well.
Rick will be running the TVR in the Sonoma Historic
Motorsports Festival at Infineon. Let's see if several of us can make it
over to cheer him to victory or at least enjoy the shade of his pit area.
Just a reminder to everyone to make their reservations of
Reno. We have made ours. Maybe we can get enough CP members there
this year to have a full table at the banquet on Saturday night. Last
year we had seven CP members and filled in the rest of the table with PCNC
members.
We want to apologize for the tardiness of this month's
newsletter and any memory lapse in recording the events of the meeting.
We've had a very busy month and this got moved down on the list, besides
there wasn't too much in this months newsletter due to our lack of automotive
activity and the absence of any articles being submitted for the newsletter.
Lets hope that as the weather improves that there will be more activities for
everyone to report!
Wanted: Articles for CP Newsletter
If you have attended a car function of any type, please
write about your car adventures and send it to jes@riverdeltawireless.com
to be included in the next Capitol Pantera newsletter. If
newsletter articles are not received, then it will be more of Jim &
Emilia's automotive adventures or "The Motoring Mouth".
