The Motoring Mouth
by Emilia Seiferling
CP members Rick, Rick, and Carl were not at the meeting because they were helping Roger Andriesse get his Lotus Cortina ready for a track event.  If you are not aware, Roger's car and trailer were stolen and trashed.  He got them back but not in the racing condition!
Karen will not be able to joint us on the Foothill Wine tour because she is getting ready to leave the next day for South America.  She will visit the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu in Peru.  Lucky Lady!
Dennis hopes to have his side mirrors back on the Pantera and attend the Wine Tour.  He plans to use high strength rare earth magnets!
Jim modified his temperature sender unit for yet another test.  He mounted a second probe at the bottom of the pressure tank.  He left the other probe in the engine block.  He then installed a switch to enable him to change between sensors and compare the temperatures.  The tank mounted probe gave a much lower and more consistent readout.
Henry hopes to have his air-conditioning running for the Wine Tour.
Ken may be able to join us for the BBQ after he takes his DeLorean to the British car show in Dixon.
Terry Eriksen is working on modifying the clutch on his Pantera so that he can drive it .  Terry's left foot was severely injured in a motorcycle accident.
There is a Silent Movie at The Towe Auto Museum on Friday, May 19.  Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. is "The Black Pirate".  Check the link for details.
John W. has his Bricklin up and running again.  One small child really liked John's car, at Mimi's.  This was after the child walked right by the black Lamborghini to the Bricklin!  It must have been the red color!
We hope to out on the patio at the next CP meeting.  Come on time to get a good seat.  We had to keep adding tables at this meeting!  It's fun to watch the public check out the cars.
Meeting Notes, April 11, 2005
by Emilia Seiferling
The weather has finally turned good for the May meeting of the Capitol Panteras. There were two Panteras and three other exotics in the parking lot.  It was so nice that we sat on the patio to enjoy the weather!  Those  present were: Jeff Budelli, Henry Kirk and friend Karen, Emilia & Jim Seiferling, Ken Montgomery, John Worsley , Glen Cramer, and Terry Eriksen and friend Kathy, Duane and Darice Harlan, and Dennis Gacutan.  It was great to see Terry up and about without the wheel chair!  There was no raffle since we were missing the Treasurer.  The presence of four ladies may be a record for a CP meeting!
We reminded everyone of the Reno-Tahoe Panteras Fun Rally, on June 7-11.  It will be at Harrah's Reno.  There was a detailed article in the POCA newsletter.  This is a fun event.  Try to make all or part of it the second weekend in June.
Jeff reported the date for the Foothill Wine Country Wine Tour and BBQ is set for Sunday, May 21.  We will meet in El Dorado Hills to start the tour at 10 AM.  Maps were passed out.  The event will end with a BBQ at the home of Glen Cramer, in Rancho Murrieta.  There will be a small cost to cover the cost of the BBQ.  As with all CP events, if your club car is not road worthy the day of the event, please don't feel that you can't attend!  We welcome all members in any vehicle, but you may have to be at the back of the pack on the cruise, if you don't bring the club car. We have 16 people signed up for the tour.  If you haven't RSVP'd yet, let us know in the next few days, so we can get the food amounts finalized.  Please join us. This should be a great outing to drive the Pantera!  Please RSVP to  We will meet at Bella Bru Coffee, next to Raleys food store, at the north east corner of Hwy 50 and El Dorado Hills Blvd (exit north) at 10 AM.  The first winery stop will be Toogood winery, in the Fair Play area, for any stragglers.
Karen reported on the joint brunch with the Reno-Tahoe Panteras.   She and Henry personally checked out the venue.  It is in Nevada City, the Northern Queen Hotel.  The group looked at the possible dates from the Reno/Tahoe Panteras.  It was decided that our first choice was September 24, 2006 and our second choice would be October 15.  We will send these dates to the Reno-Tahoe Panteras and see what works best for them.  Please mark your calendar now!
Chairman Jeff hopes to have a variety of Italian cars, in addition to Panteras, at the Festa Italiana.  He is thinking to do the display only on Saturday.  If you have any Italian car, for the show, please let Jeff or us know.  More details as we get closer to the date, August 5-6.
Henry reminded us of the car show on Saturday, May 13, at Folsom Lake College.  All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Northern California.  Contact Info
Paul Bowden was not at the meeting, but sent us an e-mail about the Capitol Panteras having a display at the Towe Auto Museum in January 2007.  Since we couldn't get more information from Paul, we are unsure about the details.  Duane said he was willing to display his car.  We will contact the museum and have more info for the next meeting.  So think about having your car on display in January.  Remember that the Nash Club was able to do this!
John W. has the Thunder Valley Brunch Run set!  Mark your calendar for July 16, 2006.  We will get a head count at the June meeting of CP at Mimi's.
Dennis had a suggestion to hold the July meeting, of the Capitol Panteras, in Old Roseville at the auto show that is held there every Tuesday during the summer.  Dennis will work out the details of where we will eat and the reserved parking.  Details at the June meeting at Mimi's.  This should be a fun way to get out and drive the cars.
We passed around a copy of a item that POCA President John Taphorn e-mailed to Jim .  It concerned combining the POCA Newsletter and Profiles.  The complete text was sent out to all paid POCA members.
We will review this again next meeting, but the general reception was good except for the title of the new publication.  No one like the Italian name!  They all preferred the English translation, "Drive It" !  We had hoped that Mike Drew would be at the meeting to give us the pros and cons for the change, since we assume that he was at the meeting in Las Vegas where it was discussed.  Maybe he will be at the June CP meeting.
Wanted: Articles for CP Newsletter
If you have attended a car function of any type, please write about your car adventures and send it to  to be included in the next Capitol Pantera newsletter.  If newsletter articles are not received, then it will be more of Jim & Emilia's automotive adventures or "The Motoring Mouth".
