Delta Brunch Run - November 9

The weatherman lied about what the weather would be this past Sunday for our Capitol Pantera Brunch Run!  It was suppose to be 65 degrees and sunny, but instead it was cool, overcast, and rainy.  But the rain did not dampen our spirits.  There was the rare site of three wet Panteras parked in front of the Ryde Hotel! That is something that is seldom seen.  This puts to rest, once and for all, the notion that the Pantera will melt in the rain!  Inside there were 13 Pantera and DeLorean owners enjoying the champagne brunch at the Ryde.  Attending CP members were Rick & Marcia Carlile, Henry Kirk, Rick & Finny Moseley, John Worsley, Jim & Emilia Seiferling.  The DeLoreans were represented by Ken Montgomery, and Rex & Connie Little.  We were joined by a new Pantera owner Dave Sellers & his girl friend Renee, from Antioch.  Dave has had his car for only one week.  It is a black 1971.  He bought it in Houston, Texas and drove it home.  We hope that Dave decides to join our Capitol Pantera chapter when he joins POCA.

Notes from the November 11th. Capitol Pantera Meeting

The weather was cold and the November meeting of CP was held inside at Mimi's.  The attendance was very good this month.  There were three prospective members in attendance.  Jeff Budelli, of Folsom, had just bought a red 1974 Pantera from New York.  He is waiting for the delivery truck to arrive next week.  Frankie Stolese and his girlfriend Sarah Hobson, of El Dorado Hills, has a red 1972 Pantera, #2682.  Dave Sellers and his girlfriend Renee Moulton, of Antioch, have a 1971 black Pantera, #01777.  We hope that they will all be filing their paperwork with POCA and become official  CP members.

The date for the CP Christmas Party is set for Saturday , December 13.  The cost is $10 per person.  Plan on arriving at 6 PM and have an opportunity to walk around the neighborhood to view the Christmas lights and decorations.  This is the massive light show, that is shown on all the local TV channels each year.  http://www.kovr13.com/dave/dave121799.htm

Dinner will be around 7 PM.  There will be a gift exchange at the party.  The theme for the gifts this year is anything Italian.  The price range is ~$10 max. (No used auto parts, Pantera or Ferrari).  Each person who wishes to participate in the gift exchange must bring a festively wrapped gift.  Dennis and Patty Gacutan have offered their Rocklin home for the party.  Please RSVP to Jim and Emilia at jes@rickadee.net  as soon as possible.  Directions to Dennis's home will be sent upon receipt of RSVP.  Significant others and children are welcome. The dress is Christmas casual warm clothing.  Bring an umbrella if you plan to walk around the neighborhood.  So please mark your calendar now -Saturday Dec. 13, 2003. Thank you Dennis and Patty for opening your home to the CP club.

There will be no regular CP meeting in December.  We will be back at Mimi's on January 13, 2004.

John Worseley has agreed to plan a Brunch run to Thunder Hill Casino for the spring.  The date will be set at a later meeting.

The idea of the CP meeting for brunch at the Radisson on Sunday before AutoRama on February 8 was discussed and well received. After brunch the group will proceed to the car show. The idea was also to take some photos at the Radisson for the Member Cars page of the website.   Details will be worked out at the January meeting.

John McNamee announced that the Kentucky Derby Car Show is set for the first Saturday in May.  This is a class act.  Please mark your calendar now and plan to attend.
